Horizons Unlimited. We went to our first Horizons Unlimited meeting years ago in California. There we met so many people and world travelers that we were overwhelmed. Many, if not most, of them have become close friends. If it wasn’t for Horizons Unlimited we may have never started our Patchwork RTW motorcycle trip.
One that we happened upon as we were traveling across Europe was Horizon’s Unlimited Bulgaria. Situated in the small village of Idilevo, MotoCamp Bulgaria has grown from small humble beginnings to a destination for international travelers. Several times we have made this a base, including four of the HU meetings. It is now a place to go and see old friends, make new friends and relax. As we turn the corner and see the bright yellow of sunflowers greeting us, a feeling of coming home hits us.
As we were progressing west the timing was perfect to attend another HU Bulgaria. Besides meeting with friends they have presentations during the evening hours about travel. This time here I would be doing a PowerPoint presentation on our travels through Africa, “Fresh African Tracks”.
Needless to say we had a wonderful time chatting with friends, swimming in the pool and drinking beer. Polly and Ivo let us have the newly acquired and renovated house which we shared with a couple friends from Germany. Here’s a sampling of some of the fun had by all.
