What a crazy year!
CoVid. Election. Uncertainty.
Well, I was bored. After being homeless, happy and traveling the world for 11 years, it was time to build our base. It has been pushed forward about 5 years, but the uncertainty of travel and the “What’s Next?” question, it seemed to be an excellent idea. I still think it was. Options! It gives us options.
We needed warm weather, ability to ride year-round and be off grid, if needed.
We needed fresh water, obvious reasons.
Fresh food. Here in abundance, from the land, sea and lake.
Close to family. Halfway in the middle.
And, to build something unique. To be us. And space for moto-travelers. We had originally wanted a Quonset hut, after time spent on Catalina Island, California. Then we found the Arched Cabins. Perfect.
Our summer has been a combination of land prep and construction. Isolation and riding and occasional camping with friends. And visiting family. A couple friends have stopped by for a visit.
Following are some pictures of where the construction is at and pictures of family and friends.
We are still hoping that the world will start to open by March, or early summer. Our election has happened and gave the world a good laugh.
Cheers,
