Four Hundred Seventy Five Days. Eleven Thousand Four Hundred Hours.
This is how long the Yellow Donkey has been stranded in Lisbon, Portugal. The CoVID virus had backed us into a corner. We had to evacuate and leave her behind.

There are so many wonderful people on this orbiting rock. After putting out a plea for help on the Horizons Unlimited HUBB, a wonderful man came to our rescue. He had agreed to help us. Complete strangers. And we weren’t even famous bank robbers! (Inside joke). He has helped several people that were stranded. And he took care of Yellow Donkey. He cleaned her. He took her out for fresh air. He bought her a new battery. He checked her shoes. And, most importantly, he became my mate.
Europe has opened up, especially if you had your jabs. We are now welcome to travel to Portugal. On 4 July, finally, we go. Our friends will pick us up at the airport and we will be able to spend some time with him and his wonderful wife. And we will ride, camp and break bread together. He is one of the Tribe. A true mate who understands this different life.
We are headed to Corsica and Sardinia, across Italy and then catching the ferry to Greece, then on to Horizons Unlimited, Bulgaria, and a fantastic destination, MotoCamp Bulgaria run by good friend, Polly Marinova.
From there we will zig and zag the alps on our way back to the UK, and a favorite event, The Overland Event, run by friends Saul Jeavons and Paddy Tyson, of Overland Magazine. This is a summer of travel, and best of all, seeing mates.
Stay tuned for the next few months and then the ride that will follow this one. It’s going to be fun.
Cheers, and drinks with mates,

Enjoy! I remember your concerns of running out of food and getting the last plane out. Now it’s time to make up for lost time! Have fun and send lots of pics and great stories! And God Bless for safe travels!
